About Becky
I’ve never been particularly interested in staying in one lane.
I’m a CFO, founder, advisor, board member and speaker.
But really, I’m a business builder.
I like taking ambitious ideas, messy problems and growing businesses and helping turn them into something stronger, clearer and more valuable.
My career has taken me through finance, technology, transformation, entrepreneurship, boardrooms and everything in between.
And that breadth is exactly where I do my best work.
Business builder
Finance has always been my foundation, but I’ve never seen it as just a reporting function.
I see it as one of the most powerful tools a business has for making better decisions, understanding what is really happening and working out what to do next.
I’ve worked across start-ups, scale-ups and listed organisations, helping businesses navigate growth, change, transactions, technology transformation and the inevitable challenges that come with building something ambitious.
Along the way, I’ve led finance functions, built teams, implemented new systems, challenged strategy, improved visibility and helped leadership teams turn numbers into action.
I’m at my best when finance, technology, strategy and people all come together.
Founder
I understand founders because I am one.
I’ve built businesses from scratch, experienced the highs and lows that come with entrepreneurship and successfully exited businesses of my own.
That experience has fundamentally shaped the way I work.
It means I understand that the answer is rarely as simple as what looks best on a spreadsheet.
There are customers, people, cash, investors, opportunities, risks, sleepless nights and a hundred competing priorities behind every decision.
Today, I’m also Co-Founder of Connexion Career Collective, a growing professional community built around connection, opportunity and helping people progress.
I love creating things that I believe should exist.
Technology & transformation
I’ve always been fascinated by what’s next.
Technology, AI, automation and data have the potential to completely reshape how businesses operate, how decisions are made and how teams spend their time.
Throughout my career, I’ve combined finance and commercial thinking with technology to improve insight, simplify processes and create businesses that are easier to scale.
I’m particularly interested in the space where new technology meets real commercial value.
Because technology for technology’s sake isn’t transformation.
Better businesses are.
Leadership
I believe good leadership is about creating clarity, asking better questions and giving people the confidence and space to do great work.
Alongside my executive and founder roles, I work across boards and advisory roles and regularly speak on finance, technology, leadership and the future of business.
I’m a Board Member at AAT and Vice Chair of the ACCA Financial Services Sector Panel, giving me the opportunity to contribute to the wider profession as well as the businesses I work with directly.
I’m also a regular speaker at conferences, events and podcasts.
A little more personally
I’m ambitious, curious and relentlessly optimistic about what can be built.
I love big ideas, smart people, good conversations and businesses with genuine ambition.
Outside work, you’ll usually find me with my family and my dogs, somewhere near the water, enjoying a very good glass of wine.
